Florida safety, former Tennessee football target will transfer

Florida junior defensive back Jordan Castell plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. The NCAA transfer portal will take place Jan. 2-16, 2026.
The 6-foot-2, 213-pound safety appeared in 35 games for the Gators from 2023-25. He recorded 169 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, three interceptions and 15 pass deflections.
Castell totaled four tackles against the Vols on Nov. 22. The Vols defeated Florida, 31-11.
Tennessee and head coach Josh Heupel offered Castell a scholarship on April 15, 2021. Tennessee was the first school to offer him in 2021 after receiving two scholarship offers in 2020 from FIU and Florida State. Castell unofficially visited Tennessee on June 7, 2021.
He committed to Florida over Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee.
Jon Sumrall was introduced as Florida’s head coach on Dec. 1 after parting ways with Billy Napier on Oct. 19.
