Despite the fact that the Trojans still have another game to play and the NCAA transfer portal is not even technically open yet, USC already has its first transfer addition of the offseason. On Sunday, the Trojans picked up a commitment from former Oklahoma State cornerback Carrington Pierce.
Pierce is the younger brother of USC safety Christian Pierce. Carrington announced his commitment to USC on the same day that Christian made official his return to the Trojans for his senior season.
Carrington transferred to Oklahoma State last offseason after spending his true freshman year in 2024 at the junior college level. He did not see any game action with the Cowboys this year, and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
The NCAA transfer portal does not officially open for football players until January 2. However, because Oklahoma State made a coaching change during the season, players on the team were able to enter the portal and begin taking visits to other schools far earlier than that.
USC has already seen double-digit players announce their intentions to enter the portal when it opens. Expect the Trojans to be active in the transfer market this winter as they look to replace their losses and upgrade the overall talent of the roster.
