With the transfer portal officially opening on January 2, many players around college football are using the next few weeks to decide their futures.

For the Colorado Buffaloes, players have announced their intentions to enter the 2026 NFL draft, but only three have announced they will enter the portal when it opens (Noah Kind, Terrance Love and Mantrez Walker). That number is now four with defensive tackle Jehiem Oatis releasing his intentions Monday morning.

Oatis came to Colorado last offseason from Alabama as one of its prized transfer portal acquisitions, but largely disappointed. He struggled to acclimate to the system and only played later in the season after multiple injuries along the defensive line.

He officially played in 11 games, finishing with nine total tackles, four assisted tackles, 11 pressures and a pass breakup.

Oatis, a former top 40 recruit, will have one season of eligibility at his new school. Interior defensive line is a position of need for Deion Sanders’ squad this offseason.
