STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State football coaching staff has a dash of Bedlam spice.

Former OU cornerback Julian Wilson has been hired as the Cowboys’ defensive backs coach, according to a report by CBS Sports on Monday afternoon.

Wilson returns to his home state after one season coaching defensive backs under Eric Morris at North Texas.

Wilson’s coaching journey has occurred alongside new OSU defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity since 2022, when both were hired by Keith Patterson at Abilene Christian.

Cassity and Wilson were there for two years, then moved to Sam Houston in 2024 and North Texas this year. At different times, both had spent multiple years as graduate assistants at Texas Tech when Patterson was the defensive coordinator.

Wilson graduated from Southmoore High School in 2010 and appeared in 48 career games during his OU career.
