AUBURN — Jay Crawford, one of Auburn football‘s starting cornerbacks, is planning to enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

Crawford was the highest-rated defensive back in Auburn‘s 2024 signing class, and he promptly became an coveted piece in the program’s secondary. He played in every game his true freshman season and made eight starts. He mustered 15 tackles, 7 pass breakups and an interception, and was named a freshman All-American by On3.

Crawford put up comparable numbers as a sophomore in 2025, with the same number of tackles, an interception and four pass breakups.

Auburn’s up to 13 players who intend to transfer, and Crawford’s the third cornerback, joining A’Mon Lane-Ganus and Raion Strader.
