Jacksonville State is coming off an 8-5 record, and made its first appearance in the Conference USA Championship game Dec. 5, where it lost to Kennesaw State 19-15. The Gamecocks are 0-2 against Sun Belt conference opponents in 2025 with losses to Southern Mississippi and Georgia Southern.

Troy also turned in an 8-5 record with a Sun Belt Conference Championship appearance. The Trojans dropped the conference championship to No. 25 ranked James Madison 31-14. The last time Troy won a bowl game was in 2022 against UTSA in the Cure Bowl.

Jacksonville State football vs. Troy scouting report, picks

Maxwell Donaldson: Jacksonville State 28, Troy 17 — Jax State and Cam Cook have ran well against porous defenses at times, and this game could get out of hand if the Trojans can't slow Cook down on Tuesday.

Jaeden Day: Troy 35, Jacksonville State 24 — Troy will enjoy a good night of offense, and the fact that it's a restoring a historic rivalry will bring the best out of Jacksonville State. But the Trojans will prevail in this one by at least two scores.
