Very little good news is coming through for the Iowa State Cyclones recruiting wise. While they were able to flip athlete Malcolm Watkins from Washington State, they received bad news concerning a recruit on the defensive side of the ball.

DE Elijah Reeder recently announced that he would be back on the market after receiving a release from the Cyclones two days ago. Almost immediately after, Reeder also announced that he had just received an offer from the Penn State Nittany Lions. Of course, as with several other recruits who flipped over to the Blue and White, Reeder was initially recruited by Matt Campbell, who is now the head coach of Penn State.

In fact, Penn State is the only school Reeder has planned a visit to once the window reopens in January. Should the campus feel right for him ,it will be expected that he will sign on with the program. Said Campbell of the decision, “I have not officially committed on anything but I plan on visiting the school in early January, right when the dead period is over and I can visit the school.”

Should Reeder commit to Penn State, he would be the fifth former Cyclone commit to flip to Penn State. This comes after a positive weekend headlined by the flip of 3-star QB Kase Evans. Hopefully, Reeder will continue the narrative as several players have announced their commitment to Campbell.
