After making the trip to the Georgia game this past Saturday, Dec. 13, with the Cincinnati Bearcats, Jizzle James has been reinstated to the roster.
The school made the announcement early Wednesday morning prior to its Dec. 17 game vs. Alabama State. A video The Enquirer posted from Atlanta on Saturday of James sitting next to Jaylen Haynes wearing Bearcats gear had 69,000 views as of Wednesday morning, so there's definitely fan interest in the news.
James, an Orlando, Florida, native, has appeared in 72 career games for the Bearcats, making 37 starts. He’s averaged 10.7 points, 2.8 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 23.1 minutes per contest. A season ago, he led the Bearcats with 12.7 points and 3.5 assists per game, scoring in double figures 25 times en route to an All-Big 12 honorable mention nod.
Cincinnati returns home to host Alabama State at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 before traveling to Greenville, South Carolina, to face Clemson in the Greenville Winter Invitational at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21. James is expected to be available to play, but it is not guaranteed. The Bearcats are favored by 21.5 points vs. Alabama State.
On Aug. 19, the Bearcats released a statement saying James was not "currently with the team" to deal with personal issues. On Dec. 1, he was seen in street clothes at the Dec. 1 Tarleton State game.
Following that was the loss at Xavier, then Georgia. James makes his return 120 days after being removed from the roster.
