Penn State has officially announced the addition of its new wide receivers coach. Former Iowa State wide receivers coach Noah Pauley was officially announced as the team's new receivers coach on Thursday with a post on social media.

Pauley is among the coaches making the move from Iowa State to Penn State under new head coach Matt Campbell. Pauley will fill the role previously filled by Marques Hagens under former head coach James Franklin. It is unknown what is next for Hagens at this time, but it is unlikely he will be following Franklin to Virginia Tech to fill the same role. Franklin has already filled the role of wide receivers coach on his new staff with the Hokies well as his entire offensive coaching staff.

Pauley will be tasked with finding a way to revitalize the Penn State receivers as a unit after years of coming up short of expectations, consistent production, and key moments. Penn State's wide receivers have had some moments here and there but have played in the shadows of Penn State's tight ends and running backs the past few seasons despite efforts to provide some boost through player development and the transfer portal.

Pauley is recognized as one of the top wide receiver coaches in the nation and has developed some productive receivers while at Iowa State, including a pair of 1,000-yard receivers with Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel in 2024. Both players went on to be drafted in the 2025 NFL draft in the second and third rounds. That should be an encouraging sign of things to come as Penn State looks to find some success at the position.
