3 potential LT Overton replacements for Alabama vs. Oklahoma in CFP

When taking a look at the most recent CFP Availability Report, one of the more prominent names listed was starting Alabama Crimson Tide defensive lineman LT Overton.

A multi-year starter for the Crimson Tide, Overton was listed as “out” for the Oklahoma game, meaning the former Texas A&M transfer will not play Friday night in Norman. This is certainly a big loss for the Crimson Tide, as Overton is one of Alabama‘s top defensive linemen, owning 35 tackles, six TFL, and four sacks so far this season.

Overton’s second consecutive missed game, the defensive lineman also did not play in the SEC title loss to Georgia, which forced some of Alabama’s backup options into larger roles. With the same set to occur Friday night as well, who are some options that we could see more of potentially for Alabama?

Following is a look at three Alabama players who could see an increase in playing time Friday night in the absence of Overton, as well as what each has done so far this season.

Keon Keeley, Defensive Line, Redshirt Sophomore

  • 2025 Stats: 11 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 sacks

One of the headline names that could play a large role Friday night is Keeley, a former top recruit who has a career-high 11 tackles so far this season with two sacks. In the absence of Overton against Georgia, Keeley finished with a total of three tackles, 0.5 TFL, and 0.5 sacks in the SEC title game, and it certainly would not be surprising to see a big game from the redshirt sophomore against Oklahoma, a team he did not record any stats against earlier in the year.

Jordan Renaud, Defensive Line, Redshirt Sophomore

  • 2025 Stats: 15 tackles, 1.5 TFL

Another redshirt sophomore to keep an eye on Friday night is Renaud, a defensive lineman who posted two tackles and one TFL against Georgia in Atlanta. So far this season, Renaud, who made two tackles against Oklahoma earlier this year, has made 15 tackles and 1.5 TFL, and Friday would be a perfect time for the redshirt sophomore to record his first sack.

Kelby Collins, Defensive Line, Junior

  • 2025 Stats: 11 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack

The final name to keep an eye on Friday night is Collins, a Florida transfer who has made 11 tackles, two TFL, and one sack so far this season, and had a big showing against Oklahoma back in November compiling two tackles, a sack, and one TFL. Collins posted his lone sack of the season against the Sooners, and it would not surprise if he had another big game against Oklahoma on Friday once again.
