An Ohio State receiver is expected to enter the transfer portal

Ohio State is losing a player from arguably the best position group in college football, the Buckeyes‘ wide receiver room. Perhaps no other position has been as productive and explosive as what we’ve seen from OSU and the receivers that have come through the program over the last decade or so, and breaking into the starting rotation can be difficult.
Bryson Rodgers, a former 4-star prospect out of Zephyrhills, Florida, committed to the Buckeyes as a part of the 2023 class. He flirted with leaving the program during last offseason, entering the transfer portal, but then withdrawing his name to remain in Columbus. Now, with some of the writing on the wall with other highly touted pass catchers still in line to be in the main rotation, according to Rodgers’ representation, Net Sports Management, Rodgers will be moving on.
Rodgers had 11 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown during his career and appeared to be just a depth piece for Ohio State, and will likely still be that with Jeremiah Smith, Brandon Inniss, Mylan Graham, and incoming super freshman Chris Henry Jr. set to compete for the top three spots next season.
Ohio State WR Bryson Rodgers intends to enter the transfer portal per @netsportsmgmt.

It would make sense for Rodgers to land with his position coach at USF, Brian Hartline, who was named the new head coach of South Florida. The Florida native played his high school ball just a stone’s throw from campus.
Rodgers is the first player on the Ohio State roster that has announced an intention to enter the transfer portal, but there will likely be more. Whether or not we hear about some of those during the College Football Playoff run or not remains to be seen. Either way, we’ll stay on top of it.
