Dec. 19—***
I have decided to remain calm about the transfer portal. No matter how surprising it is to see a particular player enter.
Hopefully that is the same attitude at Missouri, which is reportedly losing quarterback Beau Pribula to the portal.
It will be the second transfer for Pribula, the dual-threat quarterback who helped the Tigers get off a great start in 2025. An ankle injury knocked him out for a bit, but he returned to lead the Tigers to a win in the finale against Arkansas.
Pribula started his career at Penn State before making the move West.
ESPN reported Pribula is going in the portal again and will skip the Gator Bowl matchup against Virginia. Hope he checked to see that he wasn't missing out on any must-have bowl goodies.
Pribula had a fine season as a runner and thrower and will be a welcomed addition at his next stop.
Missouri will turn to freshman Matt Zollers, who ran the team earlier in the season. Great opportunity for Zollers to stamp himself ready to challenge to be the starter in 2026.
The late-minute change in Columbia is the new reality for college football. It is less troubling for the program because of the recent commitment the school made to coach Elijah Drinkwitz, giving him a contract extension and bumping his pay above $10 million annually.
