AUBURN — Amaris Williams became the latest Auburn football player to have his transfer plans disclosed, as the former five-star prospect announced Friday, Dec. 19, he’d be hitting the portal when it opens next month.
Williams is the 19th Tiger with transfer intentions, and he’s the 10th member of Auburn‘s 2024 signing class, which ranked eighth nationally, who’s planning to transfer this offseason.
Among that 20-member signing class, Williams was the third-highest-rated player and a top-100 prospect, according to 247Sports. He saw the field for 21 games in two seasons, though he never made a start.
Williams was quietly productive, especially as a sophomore. He’ll leave the Plains with 20 career tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, but he registered 6.5 tackles for loss and two sacks this past season.
