Alabama beats Oklahoma in CFP: Social media reacts to Crimson Tide's comeback win

Kalen DeBoer and No. 9 seed Alabama made history on Friday, Dec. 19.
The Crimson Tide not only became the first team in the expanded College Football Playoff era to win a first-round game on the road — teams were previously 0-4, dating to last season — but also did so by matching the largest comeback in CFP history. They overcame a 17-0 deficit vs. No. 8 Oklahoma to win 34-24 and avenge their earlier loss to the Sooners this season.
The win kept Alabama‘s season alive, with the Crimson Tide advancing to play No. 1 seed Indiana in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. That win not only helped the Crimson Tide avoid a third loss in its last five last games, but also places into question whether Michigan, reportedly interested in DeBoer, will move its focus elsewhere.
Of course, there also was the matter of how college football fans reacted to Alabama’s win, especially with it looking early on as though the Crimson Tide had no business being on the same field as Oklahoma.
With Alabama still alive and advancing to the Rose Bowl, here’s how social media reacted to the Crimson Tide victory:

Gotta admit scrolling back through some of these Alabama hot takes from fans, media and even some of my closest colleagues is a riot. Thank goodness I was driving during the first half and couldn’t tweet! Full disclosure, there might be a voice text or two out there somewhere.
