Indiana football opens as a favorite against Alabama in the Rose Bowl

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football opened as a -6.5 favorite for its upcoming matchup against Alabama in the Rose Bowl, according to BetMGM.
The No. 1 Hoosiers (13-0) will play the No. 9 Crimson Tide (11-3) for the first time in the CFP quarterfinals. They have been favored in all but two of their games (Oregon and Ohio State) this season.
Alabama became the first lower-seeded team in the 12-team playoff era to win a first-round game by beating Oklahoma on Friday night.
The over/under for the game opened at 48.5 points.
Indiana was 8-5 against the spread this season and eight of its games have gone over while Alabama is 9-4-1 against the spread and five of its games have gone over this season. This is the third straight game the Tide are underdogs and fourth time this season.
