There is no shortage of talent on the gridiron in the Big Bend. From hard hitters to silky route-running wide receivers, the area has some of the state’s top players on display.

From big play quarterbacks like Lincoln’s Taylor Jacobs or Wakulla’s Owen Kless, to defensive standouts like Dre Arnold of Madison County or Alex Assantes from Chiles, the area is filled with standout players.

With so many great athletes, we want you to make your voice heard with the Tallahassee Democrat’s readers’ choice poll for the Big Bend swimmers of the year.

This is a reader’s choice vote, not the All-Big Bend player of the year vote. The players of the year will be announced when the All-Big Bend teams are released.

Voting will close 48 hours (Dec. 23, 8 a.m.) after publishing.

Meet the nominees for Big Bend offensive player of the year

  • Chiles RB Gerald Clark Jr.: 191 carries, 1,512 rushing yards, 21 TDs
  • Taylor County QB Jabez Glanton: 110-186-7, 1,355 passing yards, 24 TDs, 164 carries, 1,330 rushing yards, 15 TDs
  • Lincoln QB Taylor Jacobs Jr.: 143-220-6, 1,938 passing yards, 20 TDs, 88 carries, 314 rushing yards, four TDs
  • Wakulla QB Owen Klees: 235-349-4, 3,005 passing yards, 27 TDs, 105 carries, 743 rushing yards, six TDs
  • Godby WR Jamarin Simmons: 59 catches, 932 receiving yards, 14 TDs

  • Madison County LB De’Andre Arnold: 114 tackles (78 solo), 15 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one INT, two forced fumbles
  • Chiles LB Alex Assantes: 138 tackles (38 solo), 15 tackles for loss, two sacks, three INTs
  • Wakulla DL Antonio Harvey: 69 tackles (46 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 10 sacks
  • Wakulla DB Auvion Thomas: 20 tackles, five INTs
  • Maclay DL Abram Wildrick: 71 tackles (28 solo), 30 tackles, eight sacks
