Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer has accepted an invitation to play in the annual Senior Bowl, the premiere college football all-star game.

Altmyer is the second Fighting Illini quarterback picked for the game, joining Kurt Kittner in 2002. This is the fifth consecutive season Illinois has a player in the game, scheduled for Jan. 31, 2026 at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.

Altmyer ended the regular season with 2,811 passing yards, along with 21 touchdowns and five interceptions for the Illini, who finished 8-4 and will face No. 23 Tennessee in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30.

Four other QBs have accepted Senior Bowl invites so far: Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia, Arkansas' Taylen Green and Baylor's Sawyer Roberton, North Dakota State's Cole Payton, according to the game's social media feed.
