Wisconsin football landed a walk-on commitment from in-state class of 2026 recruit Will Mikonowicz on Thursday.
Mikonowicz is a 6-foot-1 athlete from Reedsburg, Wisconsin. He played both running back and defensive back at Reedsburg Area High School, earning All-State honors at both positions during his senior season.
"Grateful to announce my commitment to UW!" Mikonowicz wrote on X. "Blessed for the opportunity and to be able to represent my home state! Go Badgers!"
The in-state athlete did not have any Power Four scholarship offers, according to 247Sports. He joins a Wisconsin class of 2026 that currently ranks No. 71 nationally with 14 players signed. Of note, only two of those 14 scholarship players are from the state of Wisconsin: three-star linebacker Ben Wenzel and three-star linebacker Taylor Schaefer.
Mikonowicz's preferred walk-on signing adds to that important number.
