Odebolt (Iowa) OABCIG Four-star tight end Jaxx DeJean announced his commitment to Iowa late Sunday night becoming commit No. 3 for head coach Kirk Ferentz and his staff in the 2027 cycle.

DeJean is the jewel of a class the Rivals Industry ranks No. 17 early in the cycle. The younger brother of former Hawkeyes standout Cooper DeJean, Jaxx chose to play for the in-state program over Kansas State and Michigan among others.

“There is a pretty strong relationship and connection with the staff and people around the university and with them seeing me play tight end obviously Iowa has proven success at sending tight ends to the NFL,” DeJean has said in the past.

DeJean played on both sides of the ball as a junior and caught 36 passes for 461 yards and six touchdowns with another 207 yards rushing and three more scores. The also threw two touchdown passes and picked off three passes when lined up on the other side of the football.

The Rivals Industry tabs DeJean as the nation’s No. 21 tight end. He joins a class that also includes four-star linebacker Gavin Stecker and athlete Braylon Bingham.
