A former Michigan State Spartan has been stripped of his play calling duties at another university.

Over the past year, former MSU QB Pat Shurmur has been the offensive coordinator and play caller for Deion Sanders at Colorado. Per a USA Today report, those duties have been stripped, and he has been demoted to QBs coach.

A two-time NFL head coach, this was Shurmur's first collegiate coaching job since working for Stanford in 1998. He previously worked for Michigan State from 1988-1997.

Per Brent Schrotenboer's report, Colorado tight ends coach and passing game coordinator Brett Bartolone has called plays instead of Shurmur since the Utah game.
