After an up-and-down 2025 campaign, the Texas Longhorns are starting to shift their focus to the future as they prepare for the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. On Sunday, the Longhorns offered three-star recruit Kareem Palmer. The three-star recruit has drawn the attention of scouts nationwide, and Texas is making its interest clear.

While Texas would get a boost with Palmer in the mix, they are not the only program interested in his services. The Georgia native has also received offers from Kansas, Florida, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, and Missouri. Following a productive 2024 campaign, his stock is on the rise for teams that need help on defense.

During his sophomore campaign, the Georgia native recorded 31 tackles, including seven for a loss. He also added three sacks and one fumble recovery to his resume. Regardless of the opponent, Palmer showed why he is one of the best players from the Peach State.

Currently, the Toombs County High star is ranked as the 27th best linebacker in the 2027 class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the 43rd-best player from Georgia. The high ranking is partly why the Longhorns have entered the recruiting battle for his services.

Although the Longhorns still have plenty of holes to fill in the 2027 class, they have been connected to some of the best players in the nation. That includes Tyson Robinson, Caden Waye, Nick Lennear, Tre Moore, Ahmad Hudson, and Kennedy Brown.

As Palmer begins to narrow down his list, the Longhorns will be a team to watch. The defense would get a boost with him in the mix as they chase a national title.
