At long last, the Iowa offensive line is back to its standards, as the 2025 line won the Joe Moore Award on Monday.

The Joe Moore Award is given to the best offensive line in the country, and the Hawkeyes beat out Big Ten rivals Indiana and Oregon to win this year’s award. It’s the second time that Iowa has won the award, and it’s the culmination of a five-year rebuild in the trenches.

George Barnett was hired as the offensive line coach in March of 2021, with one goal in mind: to revamp and rebuild the offensive line. What was once a position of strength under head coach Kirk Ferentz had fallen on hard times. So Barnett went to work, recruiting guys for his style of play and trying to get Iowa back to its old glory in the trenches. With the help of some transformational linemen in Logan Jones, Gennings Dunker, and Beau Stephens, he’s achieved that goal.

The Hawkeyes once again possess the best offensive line in college football, and social media was buzzing with praise and excitement for everyone involved.
