Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.

Four-star offensive tackle Layton Von Brandt named Tennessee in his top eight schools, along with Florida, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Auburn and LSU, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound prospect is from Appoquinimink High School in Middletown, Delaware. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 5 offensive tackle in the class and No. 1 player in Delaware.

Tennessee offered Von Brandt a scholarship on Feb. 21 and has not visited the Vols.

He visited Penn State twice before committing to the Nittany Lions on Nov. 9, 2024. He decommitted from Penn State on Oct. 12 after the Nittany Lions parted ways with head coach James Franklin.

Syracuse was the first school to offer Von Brandt a scholarship on Feb. 21, 2024. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Rutgers, Charlotte, West Virginia, Boston College, Indiana, Delaware, Akron, Georgia, Virginia, Missouri, North Carolina, Florida State and Stanford.

Tennessee has four commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife.
