Four locals on 3A all-state football team

District 4 champion Mifflinburg put three players on the Pennsylvania Sports Writers Class 3A All-State football team, released Wednesday morning.
Quarterback Chad Martin, receiver Landen Murray and defensive back Jackson Griffith were recognized by the state's football writers. Mount Carmel defensive lineman Max Karycki, a junior, was also named to the team.
Martin, a senior, threw for 2,739 yards and 33 touchdowns against seven interceptions and led the Wildcats to their second D4-3A title in program history. He finished his career with school records of 6,509 yards and 76 touchdowns.
Murray is all-state for the second consecutive season. He caught 58 passes for 1,493 yards and 20 touchdowns and also averaged 35.6 yards on kickoff returns.
Griffith led Mifflinburg with five interceptions for a defense that allowed just 70 yards per game through the air. He also caught 45 passes for more than 700 yards and six scores.
Karcyki finished with 94 tackles to lead the Red Tornadoes. He had 13 tackles for loss.
