Dear Santa: Every SEC football team's 2025 Christmas wish

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the Southeastern Conference, the transfer portal is running rapidly, and head coaches are stirring.

As CFP dreams dance through some of their heads, the programs yet to reach that level are full of dread. While some fans are sitting at home watching the postseason slate, others are gearing up for another Saturday tailgate. Just like every year across every college football league, the SEC also has its Grinches, filled with greed. From Lane Kiffin sitting in his office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium's personal Santa, the Christmas spirit has been shared for all to hear.

The new year brings new beginnings for every conference squad, but what is an offseason without an extremely dramatic plot? For one week, we will put all that aside to ring in the Christmas holiday with pure SEC delight.

Here is what every football team in the league should ask for Santa Claus to nestle snug underneath their Christmas trees tonight, as we bellow Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night:

Alabama Crimson Tide – Nick Saban

2025 regular season record: 10-2 (7-1 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Nice

Let's be real, it hasn't been the same in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, since Nick Saban left the workshop for retirement. The first-round CFP win over Oklahoma was great, but the rumors of Kalen DeBoer's potential departure haven't sat well with Alabama fans in recent weeks. We all know it will never be the same as when Saban was throwing headsets and screaming on the sidelines, but there are many mixed feelings in T-Town about DeBoer's start leading the Crimson Tide.

Arkansas Razorbacks – Defense

2025 regular season record: 2-10 (0-8 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Naughty

Another year, another below-par defense in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Razorback fans have well-expressed the undesirable defensive effort on the gridiron this season, as the unit ranked 16th in total production in the SEC. A competent defensive coordinator and the talent to change this narrative would be the best Christmas present for Hog fans across the country.

Auburn Tigers – Hugh Freeze ban

2025 regular season record: 5-7 (1-7 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Naughty

It is no secret how underwhelming Auburn was under former head coach Hugh Freeze. His 15-19 overall record on the Plains was something most Tiger fans wish they could forget forever. What better Christmas present than a permanent ban from the stadium for the sole reason of the lack of success over the last three years?

Florida Gators – Lane Kiffin

2025 regular season record: 4-8 (2-6 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Naughty

While Florida fans received an accomplished head coach to replace Billy Napier, it just seemed like it would never be enough. Jon Sumrall's hire just did not hit the mark for some Florida fans, who were seeking the conference's golden child. Lane Kiffin can do no wrong, according to the teams vying for his services, but Gators fans should be more grateful.

Georgia Bulldogs – CFP National Championship

2025 regular season record: 11-1 (7-1 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Nice

Nothing would make this wrecking crew happier this holiday season than to raise that CFP Trophy once again. Georgia has dominated teams left and right, but the job is far from done. If the Dawgs woke Christmas morning to find their trees without a national title, it might be over, folks.

Kentucky Wildcats – Bowl game

A Kentucky fan during the game against Louisville Saturday, November 29, 2025 in Louisville, Kentucky.

2025 regular season record: 5-7 (2-6 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Naughty

It was a valiant effort that fell just short in Lexington, Kentucky, this season. While there's always basketball to look forward to, Kentucky fans are not satisfied with the brand of football played in 2025. That is why the program's first bowl game in three years would be a perfect gift… for next year.

LSU Tigers – Juice Kiffin

Lane Kiffin's dog Juice watches from the sidelines during the Egg Bowl game against Mississippi State at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024.

2025 regular season record: 7-5 (3-5 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Naughty

The saga between LSU and Ole Miss quickly turned into an episode of "Maury" once the ownership of Juice Kiffin was questioned. It seems like the Tigers are willing to do anything necessary to steal anything from the Rebels, which is why Juice's presence has quickly transformed into a Baton Rouge staple. Now, LSU will have The Grinch and Max.

Missouri Tigers – Quarterback

2025 regular season record: 8-4 (4-4 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Nice

Beau Pribula announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal was the straw that broke the camel's back for the Missouri Tigers. The quarterback position has been plagued by woes, including inconsistencies and injuries, making a healthy quarterback an ideal gift under Christmas trees in CoMo.

Mississippi State Bulldogs – Mayo bath

2025 regular season record: 5-7 (1-7 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Nice

It wasn't the most ideal way to earn a bowl bid, but for the first time since 2022, Mississippi State is competing in the postseason. It is time for the Bulldogs to swing their swords and get back on the right track with a bath of mayonnaise for Jeff Lebby and company for Christmas.

Oklahoma Sooners – Longer pants

Alabama Crimson Tide defensive lineman Isaia Faga (88) celebrates in front of Oklahoma Sooners kicker Tate Sandell (29) after missing a field goal during a first-round College Football Playoff game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the Alabama Crimson Tide at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla., Friday, Dec. 19, 2025. Alabama won 34-24.

2025 regular season record: 10-2 (6-2 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Nice

Missed field goals were just one of many mistakes Oklahoma made in its blown 17-point lead over Alabama in the first round of the CFP. Could the short pants be the curse?

Ole Miss Rebels – Mustard bottles and golf balls

An Ole Miss fan dressed as Santa holds a sign making fun of Lane Kiffin during the first round of the College Football Playoff against Tulane at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss., on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025.

2025 regular season record: 11-1 (7-1 in SEC)

Santa's final call: Nice

Plenty of expletives and not-so-happy sign language have been floating around Oxford, Mississippi, directed toward a certain coach whose name begins with a K and ends with -iffin. The man who should not be named has turned into the Voldemort of college football, especially for Ole Miss fans. They are looking for some mustard and golf balls to have handy for Saturday, Sep. 19, 2026.

South Carolina Gamecocks – Offensive line

Clemson defensive end Will Heldt (13) sacks South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers (16) during the first quarter at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C. Saturday, November 29, 2025.

2025 regular season record: 4-8 (1-7 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Naughty

Allowing 46.0 sacks (16th in the SEC) in a single season should be all the proof South Carolina fans need to plead to Santa for an offensive line to replace the travesties committed on the gridiron in 2025.

Tennessee Volunteers – Cigar

Tennessee students light up cigars after an SEC conference game between Tennessee and Alabama in Neyland Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024.

2025 regular season record: 8-4 (4-4 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Nice

While it has only been a year since Tennessee toppled Alabama, this year's contest was a completely different story for the Vols. Many games were lost, including the contest against the Crimson Tide, due to defensive inconsistencies and poor play-calling. A cigar and an Alabama win are the two things the Vols need to have in 2026.

Texas Longhorns – CFP bid

2025 regular season record: 9-3 (6-2 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Naughty

To earn a playoff bid, Texas must earn it just like the other teams in the SEC. The Longhorns have been like a spoiled kid who landed himself on the naughty list and tries to convince Santa he's been nice, even though he sees you when you're sleeping and knows when you're awake.

Texas A&M Aggies – Time machine

2025 regular season record: 11-1 (7-1 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Nice

The season was full of historic achievements, but most Aggie fans want to forget the events that occurred on the field in Bryan-College Station, Texas, against Miami. A time machine with the ability to go back and change the result of the CFP contest would be an outstanding Christmas present for the Aggies.

Vanderbilt Commodores – NCAA waiver

2025 regular season record: 10-2 (6-2 in SEC)

Santa's final call:Nice

If Santa's magical bag had just one more year of eligibility for Diego Pavia, the party would never end in Nashville, Tennessee. Unfortunately for Commodore fans, it is time to move on and find the guy to fill those shoes.
