Penn State adds another flip from Iowa State to Class of 2026

Penn State continues to add to its Class of 2026 with players who previously committed to Matt Campbell at Iowa State. Joining a list of Iowa State flips to the Nittany Lions is offensive lineman Mason Bandhauer, who signed with the Cyclones during the early signing period earlier this month.

Bandhauer was a nice addition to Campbell’s Class of 2026 at Iowa State. The three-star recruit from Fort Collins, Colorado commited to the Cyclones over offers from Nebraska, Boston College, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Colorado State and more.

With the recent addition of another offensive lineman flip, Pete Eglitis, Penn State has now lined up a total of six players for its Class of 2026 who had originally signed with Iowa State. Penn State’s Class of 2026 is now up to 9 players after signing just two commitments in the early signing period, prior to the hiring of Campbell as head coach.

Penn State’s Class of 2026 still ranks well below where it typically expects to be, but the Nittany Lions are working their way back up the rankings a bit. Penn State’s recruiting class now ranks 120th in the nation according to the updated 247Sports rankings. Penn State’s rise in the rankings has come at the expense of Iowa State, of course, as the Cyclones have fallen to No. 124 overall in the same rankings.

Penn State is getting closer to moving up in the Big Ten recruiting rankings too. Penn State is now 11 spots behind Nebraska, which ranks No. 109 in the updated recruiting rankings for the Class of 2026 according to 247Sports.
