College Football Christmas Day Schedule: What CFB Bowl Games Are on TV Today for Xmas?

It’s Christmas Day, and college football’s postseason has already delivered a solid haul of action. Fans have enjoyed marquee matchups and early College Football Playoff drama, including the No. 9 seed Alabama Crimson Tide’s win over No. 8 seed Oklahoma Sooners and the No. 10 seed Miami Hurricanes’ upset of the No. 4 seed Texas A&M Aggies in the 12-team playoff bracket.

Leading up to the holiday, several bowl games have also stood out. The Washington State Cougars topped the Utah State Aggies in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, while the California Golden Bears closed out Christmas Eve against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl.

With CFP quarterfinals set to kick off New Year’s Eve, the postseason hype continues to build. However, college football fans hoping to see some action on Christmas Day will have to wait briefly.

No College Football Games on Christmas Day

Despite an active postseason overall, there are no CFB bowl games on TV today. But that doesn’t mean sports fans have to go without live action.

Fans looking for football on Christmas Day can turn to the NFL, which headlines the holiday with three games spread across the afternoon and evening. The NBA also features its traditional Christmas slate.

The College Football Playoff quarterfinals will begin Dec. 31 with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic featuring the No. 2 seed Ohio State Buckeyes vs. the Hurricanes, followed by the Orange, Rose, and Sugar Bowls on Jan. 1.

Semifinals and the national championship game are set for Jan. 8-9 and Jan. 19, respectively.
