Notre Dame junior offensive lineman and 22-game starter Billy Schrauth declared for the NFL Draft Friday, December 26. That’s the second Irish offensive lineman — and team captain — to do so after fellow junior Aamil Wagner declared December 20.

Schrauth was the highest-graded Notre Dame offensive lineman in 2025, according to Pro Football Focus, despite playing in just seven of 12 games due to injury. Schrauth started all 12 of the 16 games he played in the Irish’s run to the National Championship in 2024-25, and started just three of his 13 games played his freshman year.

This past season, Schrauth was named an AFCA Second Team All-American.

The Campbellsport, Wisconsin, native stands at 6-feet, 4-inches and weighs 310 pounds. He was a 4-star recruit out of Saint Mary’s Springs High School, according to 247 Sports.

Schrauth announced his decision via Instagram (@schrauthbilly), crediting his faith, family, coaches & teammates, and the Notre Dame fans for his success during his three years in South Bend.

“Playing for you has been an honor I’ll carry with me forever,” Schrauth wrote to the fans.

There are currently 10 Notre Dame offensive lineman in the NFL, and there have been 10 drafted in the past decade.

“I am confident that the valuable skills and experience I’ve gained during my time at Notre Dame will allow me to succeed at the next level,” Schrauth wrote.
