Auburn football benefited from Michigan's dismissal of former head coach Sherrone Moore by landing former Wolverine signee Bear McWhorter to add to its 2026 signing class. Now, it appears that Alex Golesh is heading back to the pond to reel in another.

Jeffrey Lee of On3/Rivals has submitted a prediction that links Auburn to adding four-star wide receiver and 2026 Michigan signee Brady Marchese to its recruiting haul. Marchese recently requested a release from his National Letter of Intent after Michigan officially hired Kyle Whittingham as its next head coach, and Auburn is currently gaining steam and could be the next destination for the No. 20 receiver of the cycle, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

A native of Cartersville, Georgia, Marchese signed with Michigan during the Early Signing Period after flipping from Georgia on the day of his signing, backing off a pledge he made in March of 2025. He was an important piece to Cartersville High School's quarterfinal run in GHSA Class AAAA as the team's leading receiver with 41 catches, 981 yards, and 15 touchdowns.

Receiver will be a point of emphasis for Auburn when the transfer portal window opens in January, as the Tigers are expected to find replacements for Malcolm Simmons, Perry Thompson, and Horatio Fields. Adding Marchese to its 2026 signing class will ease the burden of finding receivers to fill the voids left behind by potential departures.
