Let's kick off our preview of the Orange Bowl with an overview look at the No. 4 ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders.
HEAD COACH – Joey McGuire
Record at Texas Tech: 35-17
McGuire took over the Red Raiders program after the 2021 season. They were relatively consistent his first three years at the helm going 8-5, 7-6 and then 8-5 in 2024. This past season, after some impactful portal pickups, the Red Raiders finished the season 12-1 and were the winners of the Big 12 Championship after beating BYU in their rematch down in Texas. Their lone loss of the season was without starting quarterback Behren Morton but they proceeded to win six straight after, including the conference championship. McGuire has done a tremendous job this season with this Red Raiders program. They've earned a bye in this year's playoffs and are gearing up to face a hot Oregon Ducks team fresh out of the first round.
Offensive Coordinator: Mack Leftwich (1st Season)
Defensive Coordinator: Shiel Wood (1st Season)
