On a busy day of hoops and hockey, the Michigan State football program made news of their own, rounding out their coaching staff on Monday night.
Michigan State has poached Wisconsin's running backs coach Devon Spalding as the Spartans new running backs coach.
A Canton (MI) native, Spalding played his college football at Central Michigan before moving on to a career of coaching. He then spent time at Cincinnati, Youngstown State and Wisconsin.
Spalding continues the Midwest flare that Fitzgerald has hammered with his newly built coaching staff in East Lansing, and is credited with coaching Braelon Allen.
RESUME:
- 2019: Cincinnati (GA)
- 2020-22: Youngstown State (RB)
- 2023-present: Wisconsin (RB)
