Texas A&M’s top-ranked 2027 commit, four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry, committed to the Aggies just hours before A&M’s comeback win over South Carolina on November 15, as head coach Mike Elko and former defensive backs coach Jordan Peterson, now K-State’s newest defensive coordinator, beat out several blue-blood programs in the process.
Henry’s elite build, standing at 6’1″, 180 pounds, possesses the length to thrive as a future No. 1 cornerback, and is coming off a National Championship victory with St. Frances Academy over fellow Aggie commit, 2026 four-star quarterback signee Helaman Casuga’s Corner Canyon team. Under Mike Elko, Texas A&M’s secondary has improved over the past two seasons and should only get better with more talent over the next two seasons.
While Elko is focused on adding veteran talent from the transfer portal to avoid a rebuild going into the 2026 season, recruiting never stops, and this weekend’s Under Armour All-American Game kicked off during Tuesday’s check-in, as several of A&M’s 2027 commits and targets spoke to recruiting insiders, including Raylaun Henry.
Speaking with GigEm247’s Joseph Hastings, Raylaun Henry stated that he is “150% committed” to the Aggies heading into the new year, which is excellent news. Still, according to Rivals/On3 insider Steve Wiltfong, Henry will likely take separate visits this summer.
“Top-50 prospect Raylaun Henry said he’s “150 percent committed” to A&M but could official visit to Ohio State and Alabama during the summer.”
Given his elite status, hearing that Alabama and Ohio State are still in the mix to host Henry isn’t surprising. Still, Elko will always have the edge as one of the top cornerback developers, as the Baltimore native doesn’t have to look any further than Texas A&M junior cornerback Dezz Ricks, who has slowly become one of the top defensive backs in the country.
