The other half of Penn State's dynamic running back duo is set to head to the NFL. As expected by many, Kaytron Allen has officially declared for the NFL. Allen announced his decision on social media on Tuesday.
"After trusting the process and reflecting on this journey, I've decided to declare for the 2026 NFL draft and follow where God is leading me next," Allen said in his released statement.
Allen had played four full seasons at Penn State, so he ran out of eligibility. HE was therefore pretty much set to head to the NFL anyway.
Allen will join his backfield partner, Nicholas Singleton, in the NFL draft pool. He does so after leaving his mark on the program as Penn State's all-time leading rusher. Allen did not play in the Pinstripe Bowl after opting out late. Allen rushed for 4,180 yards during his time at Penn State, becoming the first and only player in school history to eclipse the 4,000-yard mark on the ground. He passed Evan Royster's previous school record of 3,932 yards with a career-best 226 rushing yards in the regular season finale victory over Rutgers.
Allen will be a fascinating draft prospect that could go anywhere in the early to mid rounds, according to some early draft outlooks. What he lacks in breakaway speed is made up for in pure power that makes Allen valuable as a short-yardage down at the next level.
