Dr. Joaquín García star QB, 'Best Buddy' gifted Orange Bowl tickets

A pair of "Best Buddies" from Dr. Joaquín García High School will be at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on New Year's Day for the Orange Bowl.

Senior Caleb Butler, starting quarterback for the Bulldogs' football team, and his friend Troy Baldwin received four free tickets to the College Football Playoff quarterfinal between Oregon and Texas Tech thanks to Dunkin' Donuts.

Butler and Baldwin are part of Dr. Joaquín García's Best Buddies program, a non-profit organization which seeks to foster relationships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The friends first met Butler transferred from Palm Beach Central to Dr. Joaquín García in 2024. It was a big addition for the fledgling Bulldogs' football program as Butler led the Broncos to a 10-3 record and region final appearance as a sophomore.

Butler, who has been part of the Best Buddies program for years and serves as the school's chapter president, and Baldwin soon formed a bond that will now take them to one of the biggest college football games of the year.
