Ohio State started the Cotton Bowl against Miami (FL) slow, trailing 14-0 at halftime. But two second half drives led to two touchdowns, cutting the lead to 17-14 early in the fourth quarter.
The first touchdown drive was methodical, paid off by a one-yard touchdown run by Bo Jackson. The second drive was more of the same, though with a bit of a faster tempo. The Buckeyes ran ten plays in a little over four-and-a-half minutes, marching 75 yards down the field after a Miami field goal.
Jeremiah Smith had the biggest play of the drive, a 22-yard catch right after the Buckeyes had crossed midfield. He also had the final play of the drive, taking a slant on 4th and 1 at the 5-yard-line and finding his way to the end zone.
The first flag of the game made fans nervous for a second, but it was clearly the Miami defense holding Max Klare as he also got open down the seam.
Fourth and Smith.

It’s a three-point game with almost a quarter left. Buckeyes are still very much in this.
