Georgia Fans Calling For Kirby Smart To Be Fired After Sugar Bowl Loss

It's safe to say Georgia fans aren't thrilled about losing to Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl.

Kirby Smart's squad had a 21-12 lead heading into halftime at the Caesars Superdome. However, it wasn't long before Ole Miss went on a run and found itself up 34-24. Luckily for the Bulldogs, quarterback Gunner Stockton did everything in his power to tie the game up with under a minute remaining.

All Georgia needed was a stop in the final minute to force overtime. Unfortunately for Smart, his defense couldn't step up when it mattered. Trinidad Chambliss drove down the field to set up a game-winning field goal for Lucas Carneiro.

Once the Sugar Bowl went final, Georgia fans voiced their complaints about Smart. Some of them actually want him fired.

Is Kirby's seat getting hot?

"UGA better fire Kirby immediately or this program will turn into a dumpster fire like Florida and Auburn," one fan wrote on social media.

"Kirby should fire himself after that. Fire Glenn. Fire Mike. I’m out on Georgia football after 30 years," a second fan commented. "Embarrassing stuff from the coaches today."

"Time to have a real conversation about the buddy buddy jobs that have been given out in Athens the last 2 years. Bobo should’ve been gone after ‘23. Kirby won’t fire his friends though. Too many good times with Searles and Bobo," another fan said.

"This is humiliating," a Georgia fan declared. "Kirby needs to be fired."

Despite all the outrage online, there's no chance Georgia will fire Smart this offseason. He's a two-time national champion who constantly gets his program in the CFP.

It's also worth noting that teams that earn a first-round bye in the CFP are 1-7. Clearly, Smart isn't the only coach struggling in this spot.
