For the second consecutive season, Auburn football will need to rebuild its entire quarterback room. However, the Tigers may be off to a great start in their efforts as they are projected to land a talented transfer quarterback.
247Sports has submitted a “crystal ball prediction” for Auburn to land USF transfer quarterback Byrum Brown. Brown thrived under head coach Alex Golesh during their time at USF, and a reunion could bode well for the Tigers’ offense. In three seasons at USF, Brown passed for 7,690 yards while adding 2,265 yards on the ground. He was responsible for 93 total touchdowns. In 2025, he passed for 3,158 yards, rushed for 1,008 yards, and scored 43 touchdowns. His efforts led him to become the 12th quarterback in NCAA history to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in a regular season.
Auburn will look to replace Jackson Arnold, Ashton Daniels, and Deuce Knight for the 2026 season. Arnold began the season as Auburn’s starter before turning the keys over to Ashton Daniels during Week 9’s game at Arkansas. Knight participated in two games this season, with his most notable performance happening against Mercer in Week 13. Golesh signed one quarterback to his 2026 recruiting class, three-star Rhys Brush from Seffner, Florida. Still, Auburn will need 2-3 transfer quarterbacks to fill its room.
