Georgia safety Jaden Harris and linebacker Kris Jones have entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. Harris is a former Miami transfer and Jones is a former four-star recruit.
Harris appeared in nine games at Georgia this season after coming in from Miami. He had six total tackles following a breakout year with the Hurricanes in 2024. He had 40 total tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, as well as an interception in his final season with the program before making his way to Athens.
Jones, meanwhile, totaled seven tackles in 2025 after enrolling at Georgia in 2024. He preserved a redshirt as a true freshman.

Jaden Harris played high school football at Atlanta (Ga.) Riverwood, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 427 overall player from the 2022 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. Kris Jones was a four-star prospect overall player out of Fairfax (Va.) and the No. 167 overall prospect from the 2024 recruiting class.
Harris and Jones are the latest Georgia players to enter the transfer portal after the Bulldogs’ season ended Thursday night with a loss to Ole Miss. Defensive lineman Jordan Thomas and running back Roderick Robinson II also hit the portal on Friday when the two-week window opened.
Georgia had a 21-12 lead over Ole Miss at halftime, but a wild second half saw the Rebels eventually complete the comeback to advance to the Fiesta Bowl. Lucas Carneiro made the game-winning kick in the final seconds as part of a fourth quarter which saw the two teams combine for 30 points. It sealed Ole Miss’ 39-34 victory, marking the second win under new head coach Pete Golding.
After the game, Georgia coach Kirby Smart acknowledged the job Ole Miss did at flipping the script from the regular-season meeting between the two teams. That said, he pointed out the Rebels’ defense as a difference-maker.
“A lot of credit goes to Ole Miss, the defensive improvements they made,” Smart said. “They played much better and tougher and more physical on defense, created some problems for us. And their quarterback is just incredible. I mean, he does an unbelievable job of not giving up sacks and making plays with his legs. They made more plays than we did. And I’ve got to be honest, that’s part of football.
“They made more, and out-executed us, out-coached us, out-played us. But I enjoyed that game and that atmosphere. I am proud of our team. I’m sick that we lost, and there’s things I would love to go back and do differently. But I’m just so proud of the way our guys competed when down 10, and just didn’t finish it.”
