Olaus Alinen is heading to the NCAA transfer portal.
The Alabama football offensive lineman plans to enter the transfer portal with two seasons of eligibility remaining, he confirmed on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Alinen joins players such as offensive lineman Roq Montgomery, wide receiver Jaylen Mbakwe and running back Richard Young as the ninth Crimson Tide player to enter the portal after the 2025 season.
Alinen, a Finland native who played high school football at the Loomis-Chafee School in Windsor, Connecticut, joined the Crimson Tide’s 2023 recruiting class as a top-200 four-star offensive lineman.
In three seasons with the Crimson Tide, Alinen has played 165 snaps, most of which has come at left guard, per Pro Football Focus.
Across 44 snaps in seven 2025 games, Alinen’s time has primarily been split between left tackle and right guard.
Alabama could have spots to fill on its starting offensive line in 2026 with Kadyn Proctor likely off to the NFL, center Parker Brailsford’s status still unknown and players such as Kam Dewberry and Geno VanDeMark exhausting their collegiate eligibility.
Alabama expects players like Michael Carroll, William Sanders, Jackson Lloyd and Wilkin Formby back for the 2026 season.
