DJ Lagway, the former No.1 overall quarterback in the class of 2024 and Florida transfer, is expected to visit Florida State football.
The news first reported by On3 and confirmed by the Tallahassee Democrat comes as the Seminoles are searching for at least one transfer portal quarterback. The Seminoles are reportedly hosting UNLV transfer quarterback Anthony Colandrea on Sunday, per ESPN.
Lagway entered the transfer portal after two inconsistent seasons with Florida. He threw for 4,179 yards and 28 touchdowns, but struggled with not turning the ball over, tossing 23 interceptions.
His fit in the Gus Malzahn system isn’t as natural as someone like Colandrea, but the potential of a healthy Lagway could be enticing to the Seminoles and head coach Mike Norvell.
The transfer portal is open from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16, and FSU is expected to take at least one, if not multiple, transfer quarterbacks.
