Purdue Receives First Portal Commitment

Coach Odom and his staff have had a busy weekend, like most coaches arouns the nation.

The transfer portal “officially” opened on Friday, January 2nd. You may ask, why is officially in quotes? Well, officially its just a date given but tampering started months ago, legal or illegal.

Purdue received their first commitment today from the Portal, from a Junior College All-American.

Hampton at one point was verbally committed to UTEP, but his recruitment blew up after his 100+ tackle season. He had Future visits set to Arkansas and WVU as well, but Purdue received his commitment before he left campus.

ar 6-0, 190 pounds, he is a nice size safety. What stuck out to me was that Hampton had 19 TFLS(!) as a safety, like HOW.
