Kentucky safety Cam Dooley has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. The sophomore defensive back will have two years of collegiate eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Dooley ranked ninth on the team with 30 total tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Given that experience, Dooley was considered a key retention target for new Wildcats head coach Will Stein, who spent the past two season as Oregon‘s offensive coordinator.
Dooley is a former four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle, where he was rated as the No. 9 athlete and No. 234 overall player out of Valley (Ala.) High, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
A native of Opelika, Ala., which neighbors Auburn, Dooley appeared in 24 games over his first two seasons in Lexington, playing primarily on special teams last year as a true freshman. Dooley emerged as a valuable piece in the Wildcats’ safety rotation this past season, eventually earning a starting spot over the final three games of the 2025 following a season-ending injury to Jordan Lovett.
Dooley is the 15th Kentucky player to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal since it opened Jan. 2, and third defensive back joining fellow safety DJ Waller Jr. and cornerback Nasir Addision. Waller Jr. didn’t spend long in the portal after committing to rivalLouisville on Saturday.
Waller Jr. transferring to Louisville should come as a surprise given his connection to former Kentucky assistant Vince Marrow, who is now the Cardinals’ Executive Director of Football Personnel and Recruiting. Marrow was one of Waller’s lead recruiters with the Wildcats, and both originally hail from Youngstown, Ohio, which served as a strong recruiting base for Kentucky for many years.

Kentucky transfer QB Cutter Boley commits to Arizona State
Kentucky redshirt freshman quarterback Cutter Boley has committed to Arizona State out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos.
Boley is a massive get for Arizona State and head coach Kenny Dillingham, who lost All-Big 12 quarterback Sam Leavitt to the transfer portal. Boley was On3’s No. 72-ranked transfer prospect and the No. 12-ranked quarterback in the portal.
The Hodgenville, Kent., native opened the 2025 season as Zach Calzada‘s backup at Kentucky, but assumed starting duties after Calzada suffered an injury in the Wildcats’ second game of the season against Ole Miss. Boley played in 11 of 12 games this season, passing for 2,160 yards and 15 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.
