Utah transfer cornerback Smith Snowden is taking an official visit to Boulder on Monday as the Colorado Buffaloes try to remedy a depleted secondary.
Snowden was a standout player at Utah and is ranked as the No. 3 cornerback in 247Sports transfer portal rankings. In 2025, Snowden started all 12 regular-season games and was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team. He finished the year with 37 tackles, two tackles for loss, nine pass breakups and two interceptions. The Utah native also played a few snaps on offense with eight carries for 40 yards (one touchdown) and 13 catches for 57 yards.
Perhaps Deion Sanders and Colorado's history with two-way players will give the Buffs an edge to earn Snowden's commitment. The competition is stiff, with BYU, Michigan, Georgia and Oregon also scheduled to visit the defensive back.
The Buffs will get the first chance to impress the nickel corner, but will need to beat out Snowden's former head coach, Kyle Whittingham, who now leads the Michigan Wolverines. If somehow Sanders and Colorado pull off the improbable, Snowden would immediately be the Buffaloes' top transfer portal addition and would slot in perfectly at the slot corner position.
