BATON ROUGE – LSU football has signed Utah freshman transfer running back Raycine Guillory, per multiple reports on Jan. 5.
Guillory made things official with Lane Kiffin and LSU Monday. The tailback has four years of eligibility left after redshirting with the Utes this season.
Kiffin and LSU’s new coaching staff have now landed two players from the transfer portal since it opened Jan. 2. The Tigers earned a commitment from Hawai’i transfer wide receiver Jackson Harris on Jan. 4.
LSU also has lost 23 players to the transfer portal, so Kiffin and company will remain highly active for the coming weeks.
Why RB Raycine Guillory picked LSU football out of transfer portal
The coaching staff that Guillory committed and signed to play for out of high school at Utah is now gone, as former coach Kyle Whittingham now holds the same position at Michigan.
Guillory played in one game in 2025 and ran the ball once for four yards against Cal Poly. Even ascending the depth chart to garner playing time among Utah’s deep backfield against lower-tier competition was tough as a freshman. He looked for a spot where there would be opportunity, and LSU can provide that.
How Raycine Guillory will fit with LSU football’s roster
And to that point, Guillory getting in the fold early this transfer portal window at LSU is big for both him and the Tigers. LSU is incredibly thin at running back, with only Harlem Berry back from last season among players who got any playing time.
Guillory’s fit in Baton Rouge works out: He’ll bring some depth to a position group that sorely needs it. LSU coaches expect him to add competition. It remains to be seen if he’ll get playing time but he’ll be in the mix.

The NCAA transfer portal window closes on Jan. 16. Players cannot enter their name in the portal following that date. But those whose name is already in the transfer portal can still decide and sign with a new school after Jan. 16.
