The Oklahoma Sooners needed to bolster their tight end talent in the transfer portal after the departure of Jaren Kanak and they’ve done just that. The Sooners have now added a second tight end in Colorado State‘s Rocky Beers after adding Hayden Hansen on Sunday evening.
Beers, the brother of Oklahoma Women’s Basketball star Raegan Beers, was one of the few bright spots for the Colorado State offense. The other is also a Sooner, running back Lloyd Avant. Avant committed to Oklahoma on Monday as well.
Colorado State quarterbacks only threw 15 touchdowns last season. Seven of them went to Beers. He also had 31 receptions for 388 yards last season.
This is Beers’ fourth collegiate stop. He started his career at Air Force, playing in just one game as a true freshman and 11 in year two. He then spent two seasons at Florida International before playing the 2025 season with Colorado State.
He comes to Oklahoma with a lot of experience, and his size will help the Sooners in the running game. He’s 6-foot-5 and weighs 245 pounds. He’s a legit athlete who can be a threat in the passing game down the field.
Beers joins Florida tight end Hayden Hansen on the tight end depth chart that should include Kade McIntyre, Trynae Washington, Tyler Ruxer, and Ryder Mix in 2026.
Size and athleticism. Rocky Beers has a lot of potential in Oklahoma’s offense.
31 catches for 388 yard and 7 touchdowns.
