Auburn football adds South Florida safety transfer Fred Gaskin

AUBURN — Safety Fred Gaskin became the latest South Florida transfer to move the Plains, announcing Monday, Jan. 5, he’d be joining Alex Golesh and Auburn football for the 2026.

Gaskin confirmed the move on his social media accounts, sharing initial reports of the news. A rising junior, Gaskin will have two seasons of eligibility. He’s also the ninth player to transfer to Auburn this offseason, and the eighth from South Florida.

In two seasons with the Bulls, Gaskin totaled 65 tackles, three interceptions, three pass deflections, three tackles for loss, and two fumble recoveries. His sophomore season saw the bulk of his production, with 53 tackles, two interceptions and all of his career tackles for loss and sacks.
