Florida State football is adding depth to its tight end room as ECU transfer Desirrio Riles has committed to the Seminoles.

Riles visited FSU on Sunday, Jan. 4, and he committed after taking a visit to Ole Miss. Riles said following his visit that he liked what the plan was for him in Gus Malzahn’s offense, and he felt like a natural fit.

In his last season with ECU, he scored two touchdowns and recorded 362 yards on 28 passes. He said the FSU coaching staff compared him to former tight end Jaheim Bell.

They compared me to a previous tight end, Jahiem Bell… trying to get me the ball open field, make some people miss, perimeter blocking. That kind of fits my style of play,” Riles said on Sunday. “Just playing ball… just being a ball player.”

A 3-star transfer prospect, Riles is a native of Jacksonville and played prep football and basketball at University Christian.

He is the seventh player to commit to the Seminoles, and he will pair with new quarterback Ashton Daniels, who committed to FSU on Tuesday.
