We need a tracker to monitor players leaving Michigan football in the transfer portal and those who are coming in.
So, how about a tracker for players who are simply staying put, like Bryce Underwood and Andrew Marsh?
You’d think it would be unnecessary, but in this day and age of college football, retaining an elite player that’s already on your team is just as important as landing a flashy new one. The Wolverines‘ new coach, Kyle Whittingham, said at his introductory press conference in Orlando that his top priority was going to be holding onto the best players already under his umbrella.
It took a few days to happen (not to mention a couple of scares of players entering the transfer portal), but U-M is starting to put the pieces together for its 2026 squad.
Many players have taken to social media to put out their bat signal to indicate their impending return with a new team mantra: “LFG147.”
Below, we track the players who will return to Michigan in 2026.
Michigan football players confirmed returning in 2026
This will be updated as players continue to make their decisions. If a player isn’t listed, it doesn’t mean they will not return, as not every player coming back will make a formal announcement.
- Quarterback Bryce Underwood
- Wide receiver Andrew Marsh
- Offensive lineman Blake Frazier
- Offensive lineman Jake Guarnera (previously in transfer portal)
- Offensive lineman Evan Link
- Defensive back Zeke Berry
