One of the best linebackers available in the transfer portal will play for Ryan Silverfield and Arkansas football in 2026.
Former North Carolina star Khmori House committed to the Razorbacks on Wednesday, Jan. 7, representing the Hogs’ third defensive commitment of the day. Auburn buck linebacker Jamonta Waller and Clemson cornerback Shelton Lewis also joined the Razorbacks on Wednesday.
House is the No. 8 linebacker and the No. 108 overall player in this year’s transfer portal, according to 247Sports. House began his career at Washington and played for Bill Belichick’s Tar Heels in 2025.
He finished his sophomore season with 78 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He also had one interception and recorded four pass deflections with the Huskies as a freshman.
The California native was a three-star prospect in the class of 2024. He had offers from SEC schools like Texas and Oklahoma before signing with Washington.
What does Khmori House’s addition mean for Arkansas football?
At 6-foot and 215 pounds, House is a thumping tackler who should man the middle for the Arkansas defense. He is the second linebacker to transfer to Arkansas, joining Howard’s Ja’Quavion Smith.
As of January 7, Arkansas now has a potential core of four linebackers who should gobble up snaps in 2026. Wyatt Simmons announced his return to Arkansas in December, and while Brad Shaw hasn’t made an official announcement, he is still on the Razorbacks’ official online roster.
Still, Arkansas needs at least one more quality addition through the portal to create competition, especially with Smith taking a leap up from the FCS to the SEC.
