Mark Fletcher Jr. has developed into a workhorse for Miami football in the 2025 postseason.
Fletcher helped the Hurricanes score late in a 10-3 win over Texas A&M in the opening round, in a career-best rushing performance. He followed that up with another impressive outing in a 24-14 win over No. 2 Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
If No. 10 Miami (12-2) wants to advance to the CFP championship game for the first time since 2003, it will need another big performance from Fletcher when the Hurricanes play No. 6 Ole Miss (13-1) at 7:30 p.m. ET from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Fletcher has 36 rushes for 262 yards through two CFP games. He is just 53 yards from breaking 1,000 in a single season for the first time in his career.

Who is Mark Fletcher Jr.?
Fletcher has been the workhorse back for the Hurricanes in the CFP this season. He has received 36 total carries, but his most significant one came on a 56-yard run to open a Miami drive with 3:50 left in the fourth quarter of a 3-3 tie vs. Texas A&M on Dec. 20.
The long run set up a Malachi Tony touchdown run that was the difference in the game, allowing Miami to advance to the quarterfinal. He finished with a career-high 172 yards rushing against the Aggies. Fletcher followed that up with a 19-rush, 90-yard performance against a stout Ohio State defense.
On the season, Fletcher has 177 rushes for 947 yards and 10 touchdowns. All represent career highs for the back who graduated from playing in a committee to a workhorse this season. Fletcher had 217 attempts for 1,121 yards and 14 touchdowns coming into the season.

Bain was born on Oct. 17, 2004, making him 21 years old for the 2025 college football season. Fletcher, who has announced he will return to Miami in 2026, will be 22 years old next season.
He played high school football at American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Fletcher, part of the 2023 recruiting class, was the No. 149 overall player and No. 8 running back in the class, per 247Sports’ Composite ratings. He committed to the Hurricanes over offers from major programs like Ohio State, Florida and Florida State.
